Your Go-To Dining Guide

Minnesota Monthly’s TC Taste blog discusses restaurant and dining trends, reviews, home cooking, breaking news, and generally brings the plate to the page.

Rachel Hutton is Minnesota Monthly's editor in chief. In the course of reporting on local agriculture and dining, she's donned both coveralls (to visit hog barns) and a spandex superhero uniform (to deliver pizza). Her work has been featured in the Best Food Writing series.

Marie Flanagan is known to the Twin Cities food blogging community as Reetsyburger—but she's also Senior Editor for North Central Region SARE, a sustainable agriculture research and education program funded by the USDA, and MNMO's sustainable food correspondent. Follow her @Reetsyburger.

Joy Summers is a St. Paul-based food writer. Her work has appeared in City Pages, Food Network Magazine, Lavender Magazine, Minnesota Monthly, the Mix for local Co-ops, and more. When she isn't out gallivanting at area restaurants, you can find her in her kitchen with her young son, husband, and an over-fed cat. You can find her at her personal food blog, Follow her @JoyEstelle.

Stephanie Meyer is an avid home cook and blogger, writes the blog, and is contributing home-cooking posts to TC Taste. Follow her @FreshTartSteph.

Jason Ross is a culinary instructor at Le Cordon Bleu, and has worked as a consultant to help develop many local restaurants. He grew up in NYC, but now calls St. Paul home, where he lives with his wife and two young daughters.

Kristin Boldon lives in NE Minneapolis with her husband and two picky eaters. She writes about food and wellness for the Eastside Food Cooperative and Simple Good and Tasty. At her own weblog, Girl Detective, she chronicles her attempts to juggle reading, writing, yoga, cooking and freestyle parenting.

Mary Subialka is senior editor of Real Food and Drinks magazines, covering the flavorful world of food, wine, and spirits. She rarely meets a chicken she doesn’t like, and hopes that her preschool-age son, who used to eat beets and Indian food, will one day again think of real food as more than a means to a treat—and later share this with his baby brother.

Casual or fine dining, bar or café, Indian or Italian – we’ve got it all in the Twin Cities and surrounding metro. Search Minnesota Monthly magazine’s listings for the restaurant that feels right for your group.

A Place To Eat

Add excitement to your group activities by enjoying Minneapolis Saint Paul’s amazing dining scene. James Beard Award winners head some of our best restaurants, including Best Chef Midwest’s Tim McKee of La Belle Vie, Alex Roberts of Restaurant Alma and Brasa Premium Rotisserie, and Isaac Becker of Bar La Grassa, 112 Eatery and Burch Steakhouse and Pizza Bar. In Minneapolis, dine on the favorite Vincent burger at Vincent-A Restaurant, enjoy Mediterranean dishes from Iron Chef contestant Sameh Wadi at Saffron, or cut into a delicious steak at Manny’s Steakhouse. In addition, ethnic eats like those along Eat Street in Minneapolis keep world flavors at the forefront, while local pubs and neighborhood joints serve really good food in unique environments for affordable prices. Plus, with a dozen farmers’ markets and nearby organic farmers, locally grown and sustainable food is at the fingertips of many of our chefs, like at Spoonriver.
